Roses for Nevy

He came.

Though rain started to pour, he found his way to her. She wasn’t expecting him. Sweet memories then meandered with him. His heart smiled. He knew he was not alone.

He stared at the passenger seat before going down, Nevy’s seat. He took the Roses sitting on Nevy’s seat. Peach Roses for Nevy, just the way she loved it.

The rain started to pour but unhurriedly he marveled the stone path. He could feel the rain running down his cheeks. The rain found it’s way to the roses and he took the wrapper as the bare peach roses glowed. It was almost sunset. Darker skies covered him siding the rain. He stopped for awhile to arrange the bouquet as the thorns pricked his palms. Nevy prefers roses with thorns. He embraced the thorn.

He felt colder and colder as he approached her. Armed with 12 peach roses and the pouring he was sure he’s going to get that smile from Nevy.  Nevy also loved the rain.

A zephyr of wind guided his last steps. He called out her name and the wind answered him.

“Nevy..” he started

“I Love You.. I always did and I know you knew it.. I was just too afraid… I couldn’t handle it.. We were too young..”

His cheeks suddenly felt the warmth touch of his tears now rolling down. A blissful comfort that emerged soothing the inevitable pain striking down to his heart…

“Nevy, I didn’t mean to leave you.. I was too scared.. I just hope we’ll get that chance back.. I just wish I could have you back.. ”

He knelt down and felt the soft grass like comfort.. He couldn’t dare look at the marble with her name but unintentionally his eyes found the most striking line that hit his heart…

“…your smile would eternally remain in our hearts… and would continue to be our light”

…all she wanted was to loved and be loved in return

“Nevy, I LOVE YOU”

He placed the roses beside her name, he prayed for her. His heart was bleeding now. He felt numbness throughout his body. He closed his eyes and found the most amazing sight… it was Nevy’s smile.
