The Rain
The dense, black clouds blotted out the sun and covered the azure morning sky. Zephyr of wind blew in every direction and the gloom inside Amaya’s heart prevailed. She stood bewildered amid the busy students purging their minds and cramming for their exams. She should have been one of them but such longing must have driven her to impulsiveness of starting a search for a certain face. In the busy crowd she scanned and found not a single hope but just a bundle of dismay. Where could he be?

She hurriedly found her way to the narrow corridor emerging to a bigger space, the parking lot but still he was not there nor a trace of his Revo. Where could he be?

In spite of pride lurching in every inch of conscience she has left, she stumbled her way to every corner of the campus to search for him, the guy she has fought with last night.

She could barely recall how the fight started. She couldn’t even recall if it did end. All she could remember was her endless weeping that night and constant dialing of Jay’s mobile phone and telephone and how everything fell to nothingness. Jay was nowhere to be found.

She passed by the library, quite reminiscing the first time the two of them ever met. She was a freshman and Jay was a junior. She might have looked too much lost that day that granted her Jay’s sympathy. She never had this extra skill, the sense of direction. It was her first day and it quite explains how she got to the library instead of her classroom in AS building. Jay offered her help. Their walk to the AS building made everything fall in place. She began to find a spark of friendship building up since that very day highlighted by their Serendipitous meeting at lunch and several meetings thereafter. It then made everything clear for Amaya. She met Jay for a purpose.

Now, she just realized it too late. It was different. She felt different and it bothers her. How could her own feelings betray her? Jay belonged to someone else. She knew since then that there’s a wall between them but still she tried to break it down. That’s how the fight started. She tried to break the wall. She was tired of keeping to herself what she felt.

She was between the library and the new building when cold raindrops soon emerged from the sky. She felt more lost that day than any other day. She walked slowly dragging herself back to the classroom to face reality and decided to finally take the final exam. Then she would be gone. Forever might still be uncertain. On her way she saw a vague reflection of what she deemed was Jay. He was covering this certain lass from the rain now heavily pouring down. She stood bewildered and pain soon crept inside her as her body felt numb with the cold rain. She screamed for his name. Or was it just her heart? She tried to move but she couldn’t until the two vague figures faded away…. “Jay” it echoes. Inside her, her heart bled.

She passed the now deserted corridor and hurried her way to class. Her clothes dripping, her body cold and her spirit still down and lost. Much more when she heard “Class, pass your papers” her world collapsed.
